Ahmad Rashad was a running back in the NFL with the St. Louis Cardinals who later become an NBA commentator. His friends, Bill Murray and Michael Jordan introduced him to the golf course. A couple of days ago, the former athlete shared a photo with Murray on Instagram.

In the photo, he appears in a blue shirt with white flowers. In one hand he holds a cocktail glass while the other holds Murray's. Rashad wrote to accompany this memory:

“My main man!!40th birthday!!”

CELEBRITY COUPLE

Ahmad asked Phylicia's hand in marriage during a traditional NFL game on Thanksgiving Day during the national broadcast. She was at the Macy’s stop that day and walked over to the local station.

While there, he asked her again if she would marry him in direct communication with the stadium where he was. After thinking about her answer for a moment, she answered yes on the air.

INTIMATE WEDDING

The couple got married in New York and Bill Cosby, who played the role of Phylicia's husband in the popular sitcom, led her down the aisle. The ceremony was witnessed by around 30 members of family and friends.

These guests included the mother of the bride, Vivian Ayers-Allen, and Phylicia's son from a previous relationship, William Lancelot Bowles. The bride's sister, Debbie Allen was her maid of honor and O.J. Simpson, Ahmad's former partner, was his best man.

ENDURING FRIENDS

One of Rashad's closest friendships is the one he has maintained with Michael Jordan who he met in 1989 at a Magic Johnson charity event in L.A. The two exchanged numbers and began a friendship that has lasted decades.

Some colleagues criticized Rashad for being so close to Jordan, accusing him of losing objectivity. However, he always denied it, claiming that his colleagues who criticized him were simply jealous of his proximity to Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.
