The Wonders, a fictional band from the 1996 Tom Hanks film ‘That Thing You Do!’, have confirmed that they will be reuniting for the first time in twenty years for a virtual watch party in aid of the MusiCares COVID- 19 Relief Fund.
All four members of the fictional band- Jonathan Schaech, Ethan Embry, Tom Everett, and Steve Zahn- will take part in an online watch party on their official YouTube channel, where they will be providing live commentary on the film plus a Q&A with fans. Co-host Liv Tyler will also be joining them.

The online benefit will also pay tribute to the late Adam Schlesinger who composed the film’s title theme. Schlesinger passed away earlier this month on April 2nd as a result of the Coronavirus.

‘That Thing You Do!’ came out in 1996 and was written and directed by Hollywood legend Tom Hanks. It tells the story of a fictional band (The Wonders) and their one-hit-wonder success story. The film is said to be a portrayal of the many bands who tried and failed during the British Invasion of the American music scene.
